Introduction: Koh Trong is a beautiful little island situated in the middle of the Mekong River opposite Kratie Town. In keeping with the focus of preserving this natural vestige no cars are allowed on the island. This is the perfect location to recover before making the next part of your journey. There is a 9km track around the island on which you can cycle through the Khmer villages taking in the abundance of orchards and rice fields on the way. Whilst enjoying the serene surroundings why not go one step further by turning your visit into a carbon free holiday by planting some trees in aid of the local community. We support a small tree planting project in the Wat Ty Pram Kbal pagoda, where we have an opportunity to plant a further 150 trees, having already planted 300 over the last few years.
Scope of Project: You are a few clicks away of having a carbon neutral holiday.
Step One: Calculate the emissions from your holiday using our Carbon Calculator
Step Two: Complete the Leisure Registration form and email us details of your trip for verification
The Foundation will provide you with a carbon certificate detailing the amount of carbon you offset as well as the potential number of fruits your trees will produce over their lifetime. You also have a choice of appearing on our Hero’s Wall where we celebrate our GREENtravellers.
Duration: Until we have reached our goal of 150 trees
